Daddy's Helper

Brooke helped Corey on Saturday at the duplex lot. I packed them lunchs and they ate in the truck and then headed outside to work for the afternoon. Brooke had so much fun out there. She would move the big sticks to a pile. I think her favroite thing was posing for pictures for Corey. She got home and had to tell me everything she did.

A First

Well I thought this would never happen to me, but it did this morning. Brooke called 911 and told me it was for me. I took the phone and the lady goes this is 911 - my heart beated a little faster than normal. I just said "oh I'm so sorry" - that was the extent of the conversation. I never thought that Brooke would do that, Kenzie on the other hand yes. She knew she did wrong she went to her room right away with a shy look on her face.

On the other hand for those of you wonder what happened with our house. The couple got the other house at a great price. The house is worth about $375,000 and they ended up buying it for $265,000. They got a great house we seen it on the website very nice house with land. I would have choose that one to over ours. So no offer for us :( We are back again at square one.

It's out 8th anniversary today - we made it 8 years I hope for many more years together. We are going to Rivertown tonight with the girls and let them play for awhile and have supper there. Nothing to exciting I guess this is what happens after you and have kids. I look at our two girls and never pictured 8 year ago that we would have two wonderful girls. Wow time flies. I look outside today and see the snow and when we got married is was upper 60's how nice. Not much else going on this week. Hope you all had a good Easter. We are still bouncing off the walls with ALL the candy they got.

Butterflies

We went to Fredrick Meijer Garden this morning with the girls and my mother-in-law. Brooke was so excited to go. The butterflies were everywhere. Kenzie wanted to hold each one she saw - she would hold her hand like here I am come to me it was so cute. Brooke had the paper that explained each one and what they looked like and she would match each one up she saw to the paper. It turned out to be good educational trip for Brooke - yea she learned something!! After that we want out to lunch together and back home in the snow - yuck. Not much going on this weekend besides Easter parties on Sunday noon and night. We showed our house the second time to a couple today so hopefully something will come of this one. We are thier top pick, but I'm not holding my breath.

Easter Fun

We had a little Easter fun today. We made Easter cookies well we just set them on the cookies sheet. When Kenzie went down for her nap Brooke and I dyed eggs. Brooke had fun doing the eggs and few dropped on the floor and broke - good thing I made extra. We just ate the eggs that dropped. She is so proud of her eggs - she had to show Kenzie right when she got up today.

New Glasses for Brooke

Brooke got her new glasses today. She was so excited to get them and she loves them. Not much different than her old one - I still like her old one better. She put them on and she said I see hills LOL, because her eyes aren't use to them yet so she might see hills for a day or two.

Not Much Going On

We had a good weekend - nothing to exciting. We had to show the house Sat. night so we hung out at Grandma and Grandpa De Vries' house. Evan was there also and the girls just loved playing with him. Brooke had an eye doctor's appt. on Thurs. and both eyes are getting worse. So more patching for the lazy eye and a new set of lens also. She's excited becasue I told her she could get new fames too. I'll post pictures of her in her new glasses as soon as we get them. Not much going on this week. No school for Brooke today so we went shopping for new jeans and Easter shoes and sweaters. We have a wedding on Sat. so that means a date night for the two of us!! Enjoy your week and I'll check back later in the week.

Mississippi

Corey and I just got back from a serve project in Mississippi last week with church. We had a great time. We worked on a total of 11 projects during the week. I tore off siding and put new siding up, cleaned a new home, and my least favorite job insulating. Corey did a lot of building projects like installing cabinets, building a porch, odd jobs, and keeping everyone else busy. It's just amazing to hear the stories of the people down there and what they went through during Katrina. I was standing by the Gulf and a homeowner was telling us right where we were standing there was 40 feet of water WOW hard to believe. The weather was nice only one cold day and very windy - can't complain we weren't in MI. We had one free day so some of us went into New Orleans for the afternoon. We met up with my cousin Chad, he's working down there building new homes. It was nice to see him and hear his stories about living there. We then headed down to Bourbon Street. I'm glad I got to see it, but I don't need to go back again. On the way back we rode down by the coast there are a few new houses being built, but you mostly see cement slabs where house use to stand. It was a great trip. The girls had fun at Uncle Brandon and Aunt Kristin's house and Grandma De Vries' house. We were all glad to be back home.

Here We Go

Well we are getting high tech here. Not sure how this is going to all work out, but we'll take a shot at it. If this works out it will be a chance for everybody to see what the De Vries Family is up to.
