Our New Friend

We came home from camping and this nice little cat was waiting for us at our front door. The girls are just loving having this cat around. Every time we go outside or open our garage door it's waiting for us. We started to feed it so I'm thinking it might stick around a while. It's the nicest cat, Ashley has pulled on his ears and pulled fur out and it just lays there like nothing is going on. Corey talked about getting a cat when we moved, but I think we have a winner already. We named it Whiskers, but Kenzie calls it Beauty and the Beast :)

Cadillac Camping

We spent a week camping at Mitchell State Park with the De Vries family. We all had a great time the weather was decent it only rained one day and two mornings, but the nights were perfect for fires. We camped right on the channel so Brooke again sat in the boat and fished quit a bit and this year she learned to take the fish off. She did hook herself with the hook while putting on a worm, but dad kept her going after that. She also did bow and arrow at the nature center two times and she even got a bose eye. I even took my shot at the bow and didn't do to bad. Kenzie had fun fishing and she is already telling fishing stories :) We went to the beach one day for an hour before it started to rain. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for taking the girls to the park, beach, bike rides, and walks. We all had a great time!!!Kenzie doing what she does best - getting dirty.

Brooke shooting bow and arrow.
Beach Babe

We didn't make it home in the two hours we normally do. Corey's parents blow a tire on the motorhome so we pulled into a parking lot to fix it. The girls wanted to help, but they were not much help.

Big Star Lake

We spent a few days at Big Star Lake with the Kerkstra side of the family. I usually stay the whole week, but this year I only stayed until Tuesday night. The girls had so much fun with everyone there. It was windy and a little cool while we were there, but the girls still had a great time.

Brooke sunning herself on one of the warmer days.

Snack time at the beach for Kenzie.

Ashley enjoying the beach before she headed home to stay at Grandma and Grandpa De Vries for a night.

It was a very windy day so we layed out by the cottage.

Brooke wanted to go tubing so I went with her. We made it to the middle of the lake before she wanted to go back into the boat because it was so rough. I rode the rest of the way back and I'm getting old because I was sore for the next 4 days.

Here are most of Grandma and Grandpa Kerkstra's grandkids and great grandkids.

Home Sweet Home

We are all moved in, but we are still living out of boxes and walking over piles. I never realised that moving is SO much work with 3 kids. It's taking forever to get everything put where it needs to go and I'm also downsizing so trying to find places for things is a trick too. It doesn't help that we have been on vacation the last two weeks either. Here are a few pictures of the new place before we moved in. I'll post some more pictures as soon as it's all put together.

The kitchen - I love my bar.

Goodbye

We say goodbye to our home on Caribou Court. We have lived here for 6 years and there are so many good memories in this home. It's very bittersweet leaving - I'm ready to down size for a few years and not having to clean my house for other people.

Family memories - We brought home Kenzie and Ashley from the hospital, Corey built a swing set and sandbox for the girls, Slip n slide and sledding down our little hill, Christmas tree falling every early until we got smart the last 2 years and tied it to the window, Finishing the basement, painting the dining room, kitchen, Ashley's room, and the girls room

Brooke - Brooke was only 10 months old when we moved into here. She learned to walk, talk, ride her bike with no training wheels, Rode the bus for the first time, Shot a Beebe gun for the first time, becoming a big sister.

Kenzie - She learned to sit, crawl, walk, talk, colored on the walls with crayons and vasoline, kicked the wall so hard that a deer horn fell off, becoming a big sister.

Ashley - She only spent 7 months here or make that 6 because her first month was in and out of hospitals. She learned to roll, sit, got a new painted room for 2 months.

We will miss many things about this house. We will miss the great neighbors that we had and talking with them, bringing Brooke to the bus stop every day, the setting, letting the girls go out and play by themselves, my small laundry room (I have a closet in the house). The girls will miss their friends Jacob, Deacon, and Carly, and riding their bikes to the end of the road and back, Corey will miss nothing about this house he's such a country boy.
