Memorial Day

We didn't do anything to special over Memorial Day. Brooke was in the parade on Monday. It was a flashback when I was in Kindergarten she wore the same blue coats that I wore 20 some years ago. This was her first time walking the parade route and her legs were sore afterwards. Corey went golfing that morning so it was just me and the girls and both grandmothers that went to the parade. In the afternoon we planted flowers and thanks to my husband I got all my flowers planted in record time this year. The girls planted their little containers with my left over flowers. At night we went to mom and dad De Vries' house for a hamburg fry and ice cream. Corey worked in the food plot for a while while we were there and the girls loved playing outside besides the mosquitoes.

Rice for Ashley

We broke out the rice cereal for Ashley the other day. She was not a big fan of it. She did pull some funny faces while I tried to get it in her month. None of my girls were real big fan of rice so we'll see if she gets use to it.

Weekend Away

Corey surprised me with a weekend away just the two of us. He took care of where the girls were going and all the other details. We headed up to Traverse City early Friday morning and got there around 10:30. We spent the day downtown and went swimming and just hung around the hotel. Saturday was very cold we drove up to the lighthouse and on the way back we took all the little side rodes. We went swimming and took naps in the afternoon then we went to the Olive Garden for supper - oh so good. Sunday we hung around the hotel in the morning and then headed for home. It was such a relaxing weekend of doing nothing. It was great to see the girls again. I think they missed us, but they sure did have a great time with Grandma and Grandpa De Vries.

Tip Toe Through the Tulips

The Dutch Costume that Ashley is wearing is the same one that I wore when I was a baby. My Grandma Tubergan made it for me and all my girls wore it when they were little.

We spent a lot of time downtown Holland this week for Tulip Time. I danced every night but Monday night and we went to the parade on Wednesday with the girls. The girls loved getting dressed up in their costumes and their wooden shoes. We took some pictures on Tuesday night with all 3 girls in their costumes. It was such a chore to get them all ready and myself never the less. Taking pictures with 3 kids was a chore within itself we got a couple good ones, but it seems like one girl was not looking in every picture I took. Sorry the pictures are on a little funny, but I can't get it to look right.

T-Ball

Brooke had her first T-Ball game on Monday. She had so much fun I could hear her laughing in the outfield. Corey couched 3rd base for a while too. She was so concerned that they weren't going to win because two of her practices were cancelled because of rain. She did a great job - she was in charge of drink after the game and loved handing them out to the girls.

30 - YIKES!!!

That's right I turned 30 yesterday. The girls woke me up in the morning by saying Happy Birthday. Brooke was so excited that she got me a card and a present she could hardly keep it a secret. After church we grilled hamburgs and the girls gave me their gift of flowers and a card that sang Happy Birthday. I got to take a 3 hour nap which was wonderful. At night we took a drive out to the beach and then went downtown to get some junk food. That was how I spent my day. Kenzie keeps telling me Happy Birthday today too. I guess I get to celebrate today too.
